Lex Da Lover Speaks

I have learned that what you do and don't say hold just as much weight as the other. I have decided that when I speak, it has to be on purpose. I am a writer first, but I use my voice to amplify feelings and ideas that were once caged--  by design and by choice. The process has been healing for me and I can only hope the same for you. Use your voice on purpose.

Here you'll find some mixed and unmixed (not edited) songs that will eventually expand over time. Each has its own theme, but it always circles back to the essence of Love. Enjoy <3.

Dignity Restoration: A spoken word

This piece is inspired by the Black American (or African American) Heritage Flag founded by Melvin Charles and Gleason T. Jackson. When I came across the flag, it sparked a wave of dignity, gratitude, and appreciation for how far my people have come. It gave a sense of belonging in a world of lived displacement. This is my love letter to African Americans first, but there is love for the whole diaspora.

When I speak, it's not just through words. I have been blessed to explore the artistry of the violin. Sometimes, I even get to collaborate with other artists to share this gift.

Me and my violin had the honor of featuring on a track called 'FirstTime' by artist Rell. This was apart of his bigger project titled  "For Yearners Only". I loved this entire project and encourage you to take a listen.

Check out some snippets from my violin over the years.
